[Joint training session report]
The 7th joint training session was held over two days from January 27th (Sat) to 28th (Sun).

We received a greeting from Mr. Hattori, the head of JA Kyosairen Fukushima. He comes to our practice session every year and gives words of encouragement to our members. Thank you very much!

The practice venue this time was Fukushima Youth Hall.

For lunch, we received a delicious lunch box and cream puffs from JA Kyosairen Fukushima. The members were delighted!

During practice, scenes like this also happened.

The members are spinning the newly arrived tube-like instruments called "harmonic pipes"...!

Looking at the photo alone, it looks like fans at the concert venue are waving towels.

====

During the break, we enjoyed some sweets provided by the Morinaga Angel Foundation!

The January training session will be a two-day intensive training session.
Since practice is long, we enjoy having sweets during breaks...
I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of sending both sweet and savory items.

All members except those who live in Fukushima Prefecture stayed at Surikamitei Otori, a resort facility run by JA Kyosai.

On the morning of the second day, we moved from Otori, where we were staying, to the practice venue.
Outside the bus window, there is a snowy landscape...

We will continue to concentrate on practicing on the second day as well.

And one more special thing.
Violinist Rina Matsuda ( http://linamatsuda.com/) came to give us some instruction.

He sat next to the members of the orchestra and participated in the ensemble, and also gave section lessons to the string players.

We will provide a detailed report on Matsuda's lesson in a separate "member report."

And here is an announcement about volunteer performance activities.

Kesennuma City Great East Japan Earthquake Relics and Memorial Museum Experience Hall ( https://www.kesennuma-memorial.jp/ )

9-1, Namijikamisemukai, Kesennuma City

The Kesennuma City Great East Japan Earthquake Relics and Memorial Museum is a facility that aims to serve as a "visible testimony" to convey the memories and lessons of the earthquake disaster into the future, to continue to sound the alarm, and to contribute to Kesennuma City's goal of "creating a city with zero tsunami deaths."

The members of the orchestra wanted to hold a voluntary concert at this venue, so they decided to plan and carry it out themselves.

We hope you will come and visit us.

The January practice session ended successfully. We will be preparing with renewed vigor for the real thing.

Tickets for the March performance are on sale now!

The concert will not only feature performances of Ryuichi Sakamoto's works, but will also feature photographs and footage showcasing the interactions between Director Sakamoto and members of the Tohoku Youth Orchestra, and will incorporate a slightly different production style from past concerts.

We look forward to seeing you all there.
