This is a report from the third day of the training camp, August 10, 2019.
Lake Kawaguchi continues to be sunny.
This is today's breakfast!
Professor Yanagisawa arrived just in time for breakfast!
They were scheduled to meet up the day before, but an unexpected incident occurred when a typhoon hit Ishigaki Island directly, causing the plane to be unable to fly, and they ended up arriving a day late.
He left his home at 4am and rushed over to help us!
Rehearsal of the Ninth Symphony has begun under the direction of Professor Yanagisawa!
Also on this day, alumni of the Tohoku Youth Orchestra came to Lake Kawaguchi to support us!
Percussionist Nogi Aoi.
Nogi, who currently works as a freelance marimba player, shares some advice for her juniors!
Violinists Miyu Sato and Akane Hatakeyama
Everyone seemed happy to see the former committee member and captain!
Well, this is what I received today.
OG's Sato and Hatakeyama gave us some Fugetsudo gaufrettes.
We also received a gift of thin-skinned buns from the mother of oboe player Sekine.
thank you!
After morning practice, we had udon noodles for lunch.
Some members even had several refills.
After lunch, during the afternoon practice,
Nogi-san, the main MC of Shibuya radio show "Shibuya's Tohoku Youth Orchestra" ( https://note.mu/shiburadi/m/m289709e20a78 ), interviews Director Sakamoto!
He shared his impressions of participating in the training camp for the first time and his impressions of the other members.
The recorded interview will be featured in a future broadcast!
After a busy afternoon practicing the Ninth Symphony, it was time for dinner.
On this day, we had beef sukiyaki!
The person in charge of "Itadakimasu" this time is Suzuki Ryosuke, a first-year high school student and clarinet player.
"TYO has been my idol since I was in sixth grade (TYO was the first class)," he said, and he joined us from the fifth class!
We also received a gift of juice from Aya Nishina, the composer who composed "Kugui no Sora," which was performed at the 4th regular concert.
There were many different kinds of authentic citrus juices, including hassaku, mandarin, kiyomi, and more!
Thank you, Nishina-san!
After dinner, there was no evening practice that day, but there was a special event.
We traveled by bus to...
A secret concert at the invitation of Director Sakamoto.
I can't go into the details, but it was a wonderful performance and the members of the orchestra listened intently.
And after it's finished.
The members of the group are looking up at the ceiling.
In front of your eyes...
Fireworks! Fireworks were being set off in the parking lot right next to the venue!
It's rare to get a chance to see a launch scene from such a close distance...!
At the end, we all took a group photo!
After returning to the training camp, members over the age of 20 gathered and enjoyed a social drinking party.
The organizer is percussionist Takumi Tomizawa, who is also the evening concertmaster.
A snap of the concertmaster during the day and at night!
I hope I don't drink too much and it doesn't negatively affect my practice the next day...
