Today's Volunteer Concert ~From the Shopping District~

Today's Volunteer Concert ~From the Shopping District~

We are currently conducting a crowdfunding campaign as a way to gain understanding and support for volunteer activities, but we asked the people who host volunteer concerts frankly how they feel about volunteer concerts in the first place.

The speakers were Chairman Abe and Mr. Sato of Minami Sanriku San San Shopping Street .

There was something that both of them said in common, so I would like to quote some of what they said.

"Firstly, we are extremely grateful that all of you volunteers have come to Minami Sanriku so many times to perform here. We feel that you are supporting us. We truly feel that way. And it also means that our customers can enjoy the bustle of the shopping district. A shopping district becomes much more lively when there is sound and music. So please continue doing this as long as you can. There is a food court in San San Shopping District, and the long-awaited construction of an enclosure will start soon, so it is scheduled to be operational from December, so please come and visit even in the middle of winter. We hope you will continue to use it without hesitation. And please play to your heart's content today as well!"

San San Shopping Street was one of the first to start collecting donations following the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake, and handed the donation over to the Noboribetsu Shopping District Association . Chairman Abe told us something very thought-provoking about this, so we would like to share it with you here.

"When the earthquake hit Hokkaido, we started without thinking about where to send our support. We had to do it right away. We started collecting donations while the enthusiasm was still high. And then, by some stroke of luck, we were able to hand the money over to the Noboribetsu Shopping District Association. We at San San Shopping District have been able to do this thanks in large part to the support we've received from shopping districts all over the country. We're all merchants, so we all have the same concerns. We're all in the same boat, so to speak."

Take action without missing the timing. Cherish your connections.

I felt that he spoke persuasively about important things for the Tohoku Youth Orchestra as a whole and for volunteer activities. Thank you to everyone in the San San Shopping Street for supporting us, the Tohoku Youth Orchestra, in a better direction!
