Volunteer orchestra members in Kasumigaseki!

(The thumbnail for this report is from a provided photo with the Kasumigaseki Building in the background.)

We were blessed with good weather today and were able to perform in front of a large audience.

On behalf of the volunteers, violinist Hatakeyama gave a speech. As expected.

The organizers said, "The music selected during the ceremony matched the atmosphere, and it seemed like the audience was captivated." We are very happy that Tohoku Youth was able to help, even if only a little.

And what I would like to write about here this time is Tomizawa-kun (the eldest son), who worked behind the scenes as the project manager.

(Despite his badly bent necktie) he was running around so that everyone could enjoy the performance smoothly. At the PR ceremony for the Tohoku Reconstruction Support Marche, Keidanren Chairman of the Council Nobuyuki Koga and Reconstruction Minister Hiromichi Watanabe were in attendance, and they smoothly handed out pamphlets outlining the outline of the Tohoku Youth Orchestra, that they hold a concert every March, and that they have set up a crowdfunding site to hold a volunteer concert . (The pamphlets were made by Haruka Watanabe .)

Perhaps as a result of our efforts, we received many words of gratitude from Minister Watanabe.

Furthermore, Keidanren Chairman of the Board of Councillors Koga, who had been away from the venue to inspect the market, took the time to return and pose for a commemorative photograph with the Tohoku Youth.

I think it is a big thing that the Tohoku Youth Orchestra, which was founded as a means of supporting the reconstruction effort, has achieved something here in Kasumigaseki. I hope that you will continue to support the Tohoku Youth Orchestra in the future.

(The bonus photo is of Kano-kun playing his horn, who asked me to take one. I'm glad it was a sunny day today. I'm so glad.)
