REPORT

October 9, 2016

The second joint training session was held in Fukushima City on October 2nd.

The second joint training session was held in Fukushima City on October 2nd.

This is Okada from the Tokyo office.

I will be writing this blog in place of Tanaka-san, who was unable to attend practice due to his daughter's sports day.
(Actually, I secretly wrote about the practice in October last year too (lol))

For the second joint rehearsal of 2016, 13 members from the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra came to teach, and each instrument was practiced in its own part.
There was also some trouble with the Shinkansen train the teachers were on being delayed due to electrical problems.
Until then, the students seemed to be practicing independently while preparing to welcome their teachers for their respective instruments in each classroom.

The most common instrument is the violin, with over 20 people.
The smallest instrument is the tuba, with two players.
I imagine you all had a great time practicing face to face with your teacher.

During the lunch break, a meeting was held for all the section leaders.
The topic was "Discussion on volunteer activities of the Tohoku Youth Orchestra."

Keep an eye out for the Tohoku Youth Orchestra's upcoming extracurricular activities!

There were a few members who joined practice late after club activities or participating in the city festival (they came in gym clothes, so it looked like a club activity / lol).
This is a valuable practice day. Don't miss it, participate!!

Although it was October, the weather was very nice and some classrooms were transformed into sunrooms, with the windows open to let in the outside breeze while practicing.
During the break, I saw the first and second generation members all gathered in a circle and seemed to be communicating well.

Thank you to all the teachers who took time out of their busy schedules to come to Fukushima.

From the summer training camp, the first practice session, and now this one, the members' bond has deepened, and they are now able to clean up the classrooms and instruments more quickly.

The members themselves uploaded the footage of the practice on that day to their official Instagram account. Please take a look.

Sheet music for "The Last Emperor" and "ETUDE", which will be performed following the previous concert, were also distributed.
Please do your best in your independent training for our next joint practice in November.

The weather has been hot and cold.
Please take good care of your health, and we'll see you at the joint practice on November 12th.
