Next up is the Fukushima performance!
Next up is the Fukushima performance!
The performance will begin at 6:30pm today (3/23) in the main hall of Kenshin Koriyama Cultural Center (Koriyama Civic Cultural Center).
As I was strolling through the halls from my place of accommodation, I came across this banner.
I remember the Tohoku Youth members performing at a Firebonds game in January 2020.

Tohoku Youth has been carrying out various activities here in Koriyama.
Before today's concert, I used my free time in the morning to walk around some places that are relevant to me.
First, Koriyama City Central Library.
The father of one of the band members (Mr. Ashina) works here, and although we didn't have an appointment we were able to meet him!
Thanks to the father's efforts, a group of volunteers performed together in June 2016.

The members were Watanabe Masahiro, Chiba Takashi, Ishikawa Ritsu, Ashina Reika, and Tanno Yuri, who were high school students at the time.
Watanabe, Chiba, and Tanno are still on the team and are leading the Tohoku Youth team.
Our next stop was Nanohana, a senior housing and care facility.
I also visited without an appointment, but I got to meet the facility director, Mr. Sakamoto!
We held a Tohoku Youth Volunteer Concert in October 2016, and Sakamoto-san remembered the time very well, shedding tears as he spoke about it.

In this way, Tohoku Youth has been able to continue its activities for many years thanks to the support of the local community.
It seems that same-day tickets will be on sale today, so please come and see for yourself!
