Here is a report from the July joint training session!

Here is a report from the July joint training session!

July 29th. Due to the effects of Typhoon 6, it was uncertain whether the members would be able to make it to Fukushima... but some trains were delayed, and everyone made it safely.

After the typhoon passed, the weather in Fukushima was sunny with occasional heavy rain. The maximum temperature was 33 degrees. It suddenly felt like summer!

This will be the first rehearsal of the season with conductor Mr. Yanagisawa in attendance.

We will play all the movements of Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony."

By the way, the number of people attending this day was relatively small because it coincided with the performance day of the members who are also members of the "FTV Junior Orchestra".

By the way, the sheet music that the Tohoku Youth Orchestra will be using this time is the Bärenreiter edition.
Even the same "Ninth Symphony" can have subtle differences in dynamics and pitch depending on the publisher.
Professor Yanagisawa provided explanations on these points as the practice progressed.

It seems like the members have been practicing more than in the past four terms... We still have a lot to work on until March, but as the secretariat, we felt a little relieved.

Now that morning practice is over, it's time for lunch.

Tohoku Youth has just welcomed new members from the 5th term. On this day, they split into groups based on the first letter of their names as a "Friendship Project" and had lunch together!

Also, during the break in the afternoon practice, we recorded an interview with Professor Yanagisawa for Shibuya Radio ( https://shiburadi.com/ ).
The interviewer is this season's captain, Shiori Tajima.

An interview with Professor Yanagisawa will be broadcast on Wednesday, July 31st.

These are the four trombone players.

On the far right of the photo, Kaizu Kota celebrated his 16th birthday! Congratulations!

By the way, on this day we practiced in the following order: 2nd movement → 4th movement → 3rd movement → 1st movement.
Since the trombone plays fewer parts in the Ninth Symphony, rehearsal finished after the second and fourth movements.

Although he only makes a few appearances, he plays a very important part in the fourth movement, playing a melody that complements the chorus...! In the fourth movement of "The Ninth," be sure to pay attention not only to the chorus, but also to the trombones.

Practice ended a little earlier than usual, and at the end, Mr. Okada from the secretariat gave an explanation about the summer training camp in August.

This summer training camp will be held for 4 nights and 5 days at Lake Kawaguchi in Yamanashi Prefecture.
With manager Sakamoto also participating, the training camp is likely to have the largest number of participants to date.

This report will also include details about the training camp!
