The pre-show training camp begins!

The pre-show training camp begins!

There are only 71 hours left until the first concert at Tokyo Opera City on Saturday the 26th. Today, a training camp will begin in a remote area of Chiba. To give you an idea of how remote it is, there are signs along the way warning of wild boars, and there is no sign of a convenience store nearby. Then, out of nowhere, a strange-looking building appears!

It seems that this training camp was built or planned during the Bubble Era. However, for the band members, this is a story from before they were born, so there is no difference between the Bubble Era and the Jurassic Period. Anyway, last night, we suddenly found out that the bus from Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima would be delayed by two hours, and we were sweating in the spring weather, when Yuta Tomizawa, who always carries a tuba and now attends a university in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and Natsuki Sato, the violinist, helped us bring in the percussion instruments and arrange the seats. The two of them even made the countdown board in the opening photo, and they are today's MVPs.

Finally, the bus carrying the group members arrived.

First, before the orientation, the concertmaster, or "conmastuer," and each section leader, who had previously been vague about their roles, were gathered together to make an announcement, which is what is called a personnel announcement in a company, or a notice to the individuals involved.

And, as the leader of the large group of over 100 people leading up to this first concert, the role of "captain" was announced to be asked to Momo Hasegawa, a third-year university student from Sendai, because the role of "leader" is hot and sweaty. The practice room is packed.

First, we started practicing with "Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5", Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5. After the afternoon practice.

The countdown is underway. Conductor Toshio Yanagisawa is also very busy.

We ate at a restaurant in the training camp together with other sports-related people.

After the practice session, we had a meal together. It was a buffet style and we all took whatever we wanted.

To all the parents of the members, please rest assured that everyone was eating well and happily. I, too, was tempted by the food at the training camp and ended up having a high-calorie dinner despite my age.

With mapo tofu in the middle of the plate, various fried foods, spaghetti and curry rice are a carbohydrate duet. The evening practice starts with Rhapsody in Blue.

After this, the Last Emperor, if you live with your mother, practice the encore song until 9 pm, and have breakfast from 6:30 tomorrow, I wonder if everyone is okay. The boys sleep in a large room with about 30 people, from elementary school students to college students, with pillows lined up.

The girls share a room with 7 or 8 others.

It must be tough traveling as a group of over 100 people. There's bound to be 1% chance of something happening, so we're prepared for anything, like missing the bus, being absent due to illness, or not being able to adjust the air conditioning. I can understand why construction sites often put up "zero accidents" signs. It makes me want to make that declaration. According to the handwritten note by conductor Yanagisawa, tomorrow's practice will be like this.

The second day is also hard. I hope that Ishii-kun, an elementary school student who got up at 4:30 and came from Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture, will sleep soundly and not get into any pillow fights. Oh, we made an important announcement today. It looks like we will be able to continue this activity next year. We have a financial outlook. However, we are still waiting for your support and surprising donations! There are three days left until the big day.
