[Member Interview] Asuka Yoshida (double bass)

We will be sending you regular interviews with members of the orchestra until the concert. This time we have Asuka Yoshida (double bass)!

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Fried chicken.

Q: Where do you live?

A: Fukushima.

Q: How long have you been making music?

A: I started playing the electric organ in kindergarten, and the double bass in high school.

Q: Is there anything that makes you feel glad that you're doing music?

A: As with the Tohoku Youth Orchestra (TYO), it's great to have the opportunity to meet new people.

Q: Has anything changed before and after 3/11?

A: I've come to realize that you never know when someone is going to die.

Q: What do you think about joining TYO?

A: Someone invited me to join, and it's fun. A senior recommended it to me. I'm a university student, but there are people of all ages, and that's what's interesting.

Q: Please tell us your enthusiasm for the concert in March.

A: Actually, I have a solo. It's rare to be entrusted with a solo in an orchestra of this size, so I'll do my best. My hands were shaking during practice today, but I'm going to practice hard for the day.
