The 8th joint orchestra practice was held.
The 8th joint practice rehearsal was held on February 7–8 at the Fukushima Minpo Hall.
On that day, a television crew came to cover the event from the morning, and several members were interviewed. Further details are expected to be announced at a later date, so please look forward to it.
In the morning, we practiced the first and second movements of Fate.
In the afternoon, we practiced pieces composed by Director Sakamoto.
Members from Miyagi and Iwate, as in January, stayed overnight in Fukushima City.
It seems that the pre-meal greeting (“Itadakimasu”) was led by Ms. Shizuku Goto and Ms. Kaho Matsuzaki, both 11th-term members of the clarinet section.
On the morning of the second day, we practiced the third and fourth movements of Fate.
Members who were not performing in Fate helped by binding the sheet music for the supporting performers who will join us for the concert and by copying in the bowing markings.
During rehearsal, Ms. Mizuho Miura, who had been in charge of percussion until a few years ago, and Mr. Ryosuke Otsuka, who had played the cello, came to share the news of their marriage. This marks the second married couple formed between members of the tohoku youth orchestra.

Ms. Mizuho Miura and Ms. Honoka Kikuta of the violin section were classmates in high school and are said to be childhood friends and close best friends.
On that day, many OBOG alumni seniors came to visit us.
When alumni who have already graduated come back to visit, it gives us a wonderfully nostalgic feeling.
This time, we received boxed lunches kindly provided by JA Kyosairen Fukushima, and snacks generously donated by the Morinaga Angel Foundation.
Everyone was all smiles at the snack donations. Thank you, as always.
After lunch, we practiced pieces composed by Director Sakamoto and then performed Fate straight through from the first to the fourth movement.

Since it was our first time playing it all the way from beginning to end, the members were completely exhausted.
On the day of the concert, we are scheduled to perform twice—once in the afternoon and once in the evening—and will play Fate straight through both times, in addition to many other pieces. We hope to build up our stamina so that we can make it to the very end successfully.
On this day, rehearsals were also held for notte stellata 2026. Posters were displayed in the hall, and participating members posed the same way as in the posters and took photos together.

With this session, the 11th-term joint practice has come to an end. All that remains are notte stellata 2026 on March 7–9 and the Tohoku Youth Orchestra Concert 2026 on March 26.
This report has been brought to you by Satoka Ishikawa of the flute section.
Thank you very much for reading to the end.
As we head into the final stretch toward the Tohoku Youth Orchestra Concert 2026 and notte stellata 2026, it’s time for a last spurt.
All members, please take extra care of your health so that nothing interferes with the upcoming training camp or the concert performances.
The Best of Tohoku Youth Orchestra 2025 will be released on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Please see the details here.
This will be the third CD by the Tohoku Youth Orchestra. We look forward to receiving your pre-orders.
