Photo exhibition and benefit concert IN Sanyodo Bookstore/High School Quartet

The "Photo Exhibition & Volunteer Concert in Sanyodo Bookstore" was held at Sanyodo Bookstore from December 22nd to December 25th!

In this report, I'd like to tell you about the performance I took part in on the 25th!

This time, we formed a team of close high school friends!

This time, we played more songs than usual when we perform as volunteers, and we came up with the MCs ourselves.
We all decided on the songs over the phone, and we all corrected each other's MCs.
Thanks to that, we were able to deepen our bonds even more!

That morning, I headed to Tokyo by Shinkansen.
Tokyo's transportation network is so complex and maze-like that it was very tiring...

As soon as I arrived in Omotesando, I found Sanyodo Bookstore!
The atmosphere was exactly what I liked, and I was happy from start to finish.

After arriving in Omotesando, we headed to the rehearsal studio and began rehearsing.
We didn't have much time so we rehearsed a few songs before going on stage.

It was hectic before the show.

We performed a total of seven songs:
Aqua
A Whole New World
Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring
You Raise Me Up
Canon
Au Champs-Élysées
Jingle Bells

Despite it being lunchtime on Christmas Day, many people came.

We also opened the rear window and performed in a way that allowed sound to leak out into the auditorium.

After the performance, we took commemorative photos.
Many people took photos with us.
Some people even developed the photos right after taking them and gave them as gifts, which made us very happy.

After the performance, we all bought books!
With so many books in front of us, we all got excited choosing one.

Here, we'd like to introduce the titles of the books that our band members chose, and the reasons why they chose them!

Mizuki Sato
Title: Reading "The Secret of Music" through Famous Paintings
The moment I saw it, I instinctively knew I wanted to read it and was inspired.
Because I love going to art museums.

Kanon Kanasugi
Title: Motherhood
Because I love Kanae Minato's books and have been interested in this one for a while.

Kaho Tanji
Title: The Ayashiki Drum: Yumeno Kyusaku Best Collection: Dream Volume
Because I wanted to read a novel by Yumeno Kyusaku.

Kohoro Ichikawa
Title: An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Small Birds
Recently, I've been wanting to learn the names of birds, and I found a cute book.

We took our time and carefully selected each piece.

It was a lot of work, from preparation to the actual performance, but it has become a wonderful memory and a valuable experience.

Thank you very much to everyone who came to the photo exhibition and the concert.

I encourage everyone to visit Sanyodo Bookstore. I'm sure you will feel very happy.

Finally, the Tohoku Youth Orchestra will continue our voluntary performance activities in the future, so we appreciate your continued support.

In addition, on Thursday, March 26th, we will be holding the "Tohoku Youth Orchestra Concert 2026" in the Suntory Hall Main Hall.

Scheduled pieces to be performed include Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 "Fate."

Scheduled pieces include "Tong Poo" and "Ballet Mécanique," both directed by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

For more details, please visit the TYO website.
We look forward to seeing you at Suntory Hall.

Thank you for reading to the end!
