Rehearsals have begun for the "Tohoku Youth Orchestra Concert 2025"

Please look forward to the concert!

Piece for Illia, included in the program for this concert, is a piece that Ryuichi Sakamoto composed for the Ukrainian violinist Ilya Bondarenko.

The tone of the violin played by Ilya is gentle, yet powerful.

Illia also said in front of us,

This song may sound gentle, but it is also very powerful and expresses the strength of the Ukrainian people. Sakamoto-san told us that he wanted a young person like Ilya to perform this piece.

It has only been half a day since rehearsals began, but it feels like the connection between Illia and the TYO members is gradually getting stronger.

Ilia gave the TYO members chocolates and message cards as presents.
Perhaps it was the power of the presents, but the sound seemed to get richer during the practice session that followed.

"Tohoku Youth Orchestra Concert 2025" scheduled to be held on March 21st, 2025 (Fri.)

Tickets for this performance are almost sold out but you can still enjoy a live viewing on a large screen with immersive audio at 109 Cinemas (Tokyo, Osaka, and Miyagi) as well as the archived stream at any time and place via online on Zaiko!

Tomoyasu Hirano of Ryuichi Sakamoto's social media project "#skmts" will be in charge of the online stream. It will be conducted in the skmts style like he has been for shows for North American tours, Korea, and tip-based shows since 2010.

There will also be special contents such as backstage access before the concert and interviews with the orchestra members!
