[Member Report] The 3rd joint practice was a chance to learn about Sakamoto's music!!
Saturday, September 14th. Today in Fukushima City, the sky is cloudy and gloomy all day.
It's a cooler, more comfortable day than the past few days.
For the third joint practice session of the 10th term, there will be a break from instruments.
The guest speaker was introduced by TYO Secretary General Hirokazu Tanaka.
Yuji Arakawa of NexTone Inc., also known as "TYO's Cream Puff Uncle."
Today, Arakawa will be explaining the music of director Ryuichi Sakamoto all day long.
Arakawa-san has been involved in the management of TYO since the first term, and in fact, he also writes the song commentaries that are published in the program every year.
In fact (or maybe you know this already), most of the members are not exactly in the middle of the Ryuichi Sakamoto generation. (There are a few members who love him because of their parents' influence.) There are also many who have never seen the movies "The Last Emperor" or "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence." (I saw them after I joined TYO!)
I knew I needed to know more about the song in order to play it, so I quickly asked Mr. Arakawa to hold this song explanation session.
Even though we only made the offer a week before, they had already prepared a packed "Sakamoto Ryuichi Lecture" from 10am until 3:30pm.
The members of the orchestra listened intently with serious expressions on their faces.
And of course, during your lunch break...
Cream puffs!
Cream puffs!
Cream puffs!
A gift of cream puffs. Of course, from Arakawa-san!
The members gobbled them down with great joy.
Sweet things have an effect on the brain. I'll continue listening to your talks this afternoon.
Finally, Captain Kaizu gave a speech thanking Arakawa and summarizing the event.
While I was tidying up, I also saw this scene...
Wearing a matching "Sakamoto Ryuichi "12" T-shirt May version" with Arakawa was Ishikawa Keika, who plays the flute.
This outfit was created out of love for the director. Here's a photo to commemorate the occasion.
After cleaning up, some groups were practicing for the volunteer concert on the 28th of this month. (Sorry, I didn't take any photos.)
This year's volunteer performances will be led by Fukuzumi-kun, a first-year student and the head of the volunteer performance team, and the number of performances and the number of locations will be increased! Please look forward to it.
This is how the September practice session ended. The next practice session will be on the 4th of October. Let's do our best!
