Tohoku Youth Orchestra concerts in Miyagi and Fukushima canceled
Announcement of cancellation of appearance by representative and director Ryuichi Sakamoto (Iwate)

We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the recent earthquake in the Tohoku region.

Due to the earthquake that occurred late at night on Wednesday, March 16th, the venues for the performances, Tokyo Electron Hall Miyagi (Sendai City) and Toho Minna no Bunka Center (Fukushima City), suffered damage and loss, making it impossible to use the venues until the safety of the facilities can be confirmed. As a result, the planned performances in Miyagi and Fukushima have been cancelled.

Ticket refund details will be announced on this website and the Kyodo Tohoku website as soon as they are decided.

The Iwate and Tokyo performances will be held as scheduled.

In addition, Ryuichi Sakamoto, the representative and director, who is still fighting an illness, had been making arrangements to appear, but unfortunately, due to his poor health, his performance in Iwate has been canceled. Please note that there will be no refunds for tickets due to Ryuichi Sakamoto's cancellation.
