An article about Saki Torii (oboe) was published in the Iwate Nippo newspaper.
Yesterday's Iwate Nippo newspaper featured an interview with Saki Torii (oboe), a fourth-year university student from Morioka, in its "Shining Here" section. Apparently, this is a section introducing people from Iwate who have moved from the coast to inland areas. She has participated in the Tohoku Youth Orchestra since its first term, and this year, as the leader of the seven Iwate members, she always escorts elementary and junior high school students to the joint practice in Fukushima City. Having learned once again about the usually quiet Torii's passion for the orchestra, we wanted to introduce her to you. It only takes a minute to read, so please give it a read.
We are also running a crowdfunding campaign until Saturday, the 27th of this month to help cover the costs of concerts in the disaster-stricken areas by volunteer members. Please understand that there will be no gifts in return for donations!
